NTLM and Kerberos

Post by sated »

I wondered if someone can share the plans for removing NTLM as a requirement for VBR operations? We're running the latest VBR11. Due to security requirements, we must transition to all Kerberos (from NTLM). Please advise. Thank you.

Support for environments with NTLM disabled (Kerberos only) is a V12 feature.

Yes, looks like in the documentation V12 just uses it and you don't have to configure anything, however, in my NTLM logs, it's clearly still using NTLM for some things. Anybody know more details on if there is something you need to configure?

There's no configuration on the backup server side. The new feature allows backup server to keep working in AD environments with NTLM authentication disabled. If it uses NTLM then it is not disabled in your environment.
