Offsite Backup Configuration

We have a number of systems that need the local Veeam backed up to an offsite location that is neither connected via a LAN or WAN. Our goal would be on Amazon AWS or similiar. Any recommendations for the best way to achieve this without the use of a VPN but allowing the data to travel encrypted or secure?
