Optimal Network for Veeam backup traffic
What is the optimal network for Veeam to communicate to the virtual machines on during backup? Right now it is communicating to the management network but was thinking it could be faster if it used the vMotion network (not sure if even possible).

Hi.
It depends on several factors, but in general if you are using VMware then best option is SAN mode,
which utilizes the SAN network (iscsi or FC directly between backup server and shared storage).
Please provide more details about your specific environment so we can comment and help you better.

Hello Jeff,
Yes, Yizhar is correct, as it depends on your network bandwidth on these interfaces. Btw, what is your current backup mode used? Network I assume?
Thank you!
