Good Morning,
I have read in old forums that when you have jobs with a synthetic copy it is advisable to do a full backup, for example once a month to optimize the synthetic backup.
Is it still a best practice today?
Thanks

Re: Optimize full synthetic
Hi David,
You don't need additional full if you keep backup chain in forward incremental mode, for example, synthetics are scheduled to run weekly. But I'd recommend to leverage SureBackup functionality to validate backups. If you have forever incremental chain, then you can schedule compact job to decrease fragmentation level of VBK file as it's updated with new blocks on every job run.
Thanks!
