Hi
I'm trying to move our Oracle backups to Veeam and having a slight problem on a restore.
On a backup I get the log: "VSS-04107: successfully backed up component Oracle Database (FULL)"
Using a surebackup to test a restore I am unable to access the database as it is only in "mount" status.
Using "alter database open" I get the following error:
ORA-01113: file 1 needs media recovery
ORA-01110: data file 1: 'H:\ORACLE\ORADATA\LIVE\SYSTEM01.DBF'
The database is in archivelog mode and the VSS writer version (according to the eventlog) appears to be 11.2.0.0.0 Beta.
I created a local user and put it in the ORA_DBA group and installed the oravssw service under that local account.
Can anyone see anything obvious I appear to be doing wrong?
Thanks
Andy

Re: Oracle 10.2.0.4.0 VSS Backup
OK, I resolved it.
Found a post by searching for "Oracle restore" rather than "Oracle backup"
I needed to "alter database end backup" as the Oracle VSS writer does not correct the state after a recovery.
