Hi all, sorry, i know the question isn't a news, but after a search isn't clear for me the argument.
We making Oracle 11g backup by Veeam since 2013 with no particular settings.
Two days ago, our DB consultant come here after long time and tell us that the Oracle isn't backup correctly in this method and if we need to restore the data is potential inconsistent.
During the day the consultant has activated the archive log mode and Oracle VSS services, previously disabled.
Yesterday the backup job failed and we open a case.
The support tell us to use the Miscrosoft VSS without the Orcle VSS and don't worry about the data consistency because it is consistent for sure.
I'm a bit confused

Re: Oracle 11g VSS Oracle or Microsoft?
Hi Giacomo,
There are several protection scenarios, main are described in a great white paper about Data Protection for Oracle Environments written by our EMEA Evangelist Luca Dell'Oca. You need page 16.
Could you also provide your support case number? Thanks!
