We have our production Oracle database on a Linux physical server. DB is named Prod. We have a test database on a second physical server that is a copy of the prod db, it is named Test. Prior to Veeam to backup the db we would shut it down and backup the data files every night. To refresh the test db we would just restore the data files to the test server and run a script to create control files and redo log files. We refresh our test db about once a month. The refresh also gives us a way to test if our backups are good. We now want to use Veeam with application aware enabled to backup our prod database. How can I restore from backup to a different server and at the same time change the name of the database from Prod to Test.
Thanks

Re: Oracle: create test db on different server
During the restore process there's an option to restore to a different location and to specify a different global database name.
