Patch 2 question: processing Exchange DAG "accordingly"?
The release notes for the patch say: Added ability for application-aware processing logic to detect passive Microsoft Exchange DAG database present on the VM, and process it accordingly.
Can someone explain what it means to process the database accordingly? How exactly is the process being changed?

Re: Patch 2 question: processing Exchange DAG "accordingly"?
Previously, the application-aware processing logic did not detect passive Microsoft Exchange DAG database presence, and as the result you did not have an option to perform item-level recoveries with Veeam Explorer for Exchange from such VM backup.

Will this make it possible to truncate logs when backing up the passive database copies?

This functionality has nothing to deal with log truncation or anything like it, that is for sure. It's only about detection of such configuration, and collecting the required metadata to enable integrated item recovery.

Will this apply to existing backup jobs containing Exchange DAG's, or is it required to create a new job?

The new restore points on existing jobs will contain the required metadata, so no need to change or recreate anything.
