Periodic backup copy best practice

Post by Charles.yang »

My understanding:
For a periodic backup copy job,
interval : 24 hours.
backup once per interval.
Start time: 7:00 pm.

The back copy job will copy the last restore point created by the primary backup job >=7:00 pm yesterday and <7:00 pm today.

If the primary backup job starts at 7:00 pm everyday as well, the backup copy job will not copy the restore point created by the primary backup job today.

My idea:
A 24 hours interval, once a day, backup copy job should start after the primary backup job so that it can copy the current day's restore point. Otherwise, it will copy a yesterday's restore point. If any disaster happens, you only can restore the data from the day before yesterday from the backup copy media.

Example:
primary backup job start time: 7:00 pm every day.
backup copy job start time: 8:pm every day, copy once every day.

What do you think, guys.

Hey Charles,

I think what you want is Immediate mode: https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... ml?ver=110

Just toggle your backup copies to that when you make them and it will copy as soon as the source job is done.
