An odd thing has happened to my surebackup environment. Ping tests just started failing on everything, no matter the OS, network, or SB job. I used troubleshooting mode to find that the VMs can ping all the gateways on the network proxy, but the proxy can't ping the VMs.
It used to work until I goofed and started a SB job with a bad script that hung the job and wouldn't let me stop it. So I ended up killing Veeam which is when the problem started.
I completely blew away the old virtual lab (proxy appliance, vSwitch, portgroups, resource pool, and folder) and created a brand new one. And I ran new backup jobs so I'd have fresh copies. But the same thing is happening. The VMs can ping the proxy but the proxy can't ping the VMs.
Where could I have screwed up the network config by killing Veeam during a SB job? I'm not sure where else to look since I recreated everything from scratch.

Re: Ping test failing in SureBackup
Hello,
if the proxy cannot ping the VM, then something is wrong with the VMs. If you put two VMs in one application group, can they ping each other? On the virtual lab proxy: do you see ARP entries for the VMs when you ping them?
As you mention that "no matter the OS", I guess that you tested with Linux? Because the most common issue is that the Windows firewall...
In general: technical issues should be checked by support. Without logs, it's more or less guessing...
Best regards,
Hannes
