Planned Failover questions

Post by rogerdu »

My customer is planning on moving 5 VMs from one datacentre to another, but their Hyper-V replication failed as the systems initially came up with the old IP addresses... Exchange and its foibles....

Will a planned failover take into account the re-IP and Network re-map inherent in the replication jobs or is this a case where I should instruct them to run the replication job immediately before they do a failover?

Thanks in advance...

Hello,
yes it will re-IP and no you don't need an extra replication run as the planned failover will do that automatically. Please see the user guide about the steps

Best regards,

Thanks Hannes! I did look in the manual, but it was unclear if it would run with the extra settings or not.

Good to know...
