Please advice: Support expired + Change of licensee
Here are the facts: US company with German subsidary. Veeam B&R was bought, registered and installed on a server in Germany by the US IT guys. It is still running on the German server and it will do so in the future.
Remote support from the US didn't work in day to day business, so I took over the local support of the German subsidary including Veeam.
But: The US guys didn't renew Veeam, so support has expired last december. And Veeam is still registered to them.
I can't renew Veeam, because it's not registered to the German subsidary.
The US guys tried to change the licensee but they didn't succeed because support has expired. Somebody adviced them to simply sell Veeam to the German subsidary and sent them a document to sign saying that they uninstalled and destroyed everything. This is of course nonsense, because Veeam is still running on the server here in Germany. Now the IT guys in the US are unwilling to start another try.
What can I do to own and renew Veeam?
Thanks,
Florian

Hi, Florian, have you tried to contact your sales representative and ask him for the assistance? Thanks.

Sure, that was the first thing I tried.
I talked to TechData and they asked Veeam. This is the answer they got back:
Should I try to open a case (for a license I don't own)?

Then the US guys tried to open case but didn't succeed because the license is out of support...Good day,
As I see customer is out of support and unfortunately we couldn`t help him here. Anyway please ask them to open a case to get further instructions. Please let me know if you have any questions or any assistance is needed.
Kind Regards,
Licensing Team

Florian, there is no need open a support case, as out technical team will not be able to assist you on the licensing question. Can you please tell me what region are based in, so I could forward this info directly to your sales rep?
