During a normal install of VBR V12 we are given the option to install a fresh instance of postgres Database. Would it be possible to add a toggle switch for selecting a different data drive ? In the current install path the postgres data drive is installed with other system files on the C: drive. The only way around this issue currently is to install postgres separately and configure another data drive prior to installation. I am aware that Veeam has a lot of performance modifications and account mappings - windows sspi - that are built into the V12 installer. I would love to have some suggestions for our larger customers that opt to keep the configuration database on the same VBR server but would like to keep best practices by using a separate data drive.
Thank you,
Benjamin

Re: Postgres install suggestions for v12
Hello,
and welcome to the forums.
Yes, that request comes up from time to time and we count it +1
To apply the performance modifications, there is a command (step 3, IMPORTANT) for that. Same as for MS SQL, the installer puts the database on C:\, yes. And manual installation is the only workaround today, correct.
Best regards,
Hannes
