Hello together,
the postgres installer 15.8.1 (most likely other versions too) is incompatible with the "Disabling Windows Script Host" recommendation from KB4525.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows Script Host\Settings: Enabled=0 causes the installer to fail with error: "Unable to write inside TEMP environment variable path."
The error is very missleading. Root cause seems that the installer uses windows script host to validate the requirements.
As postgres is the default database this days, that fact should at least be documented in the KB article.
Kind Regards

The script's intended modifications should be thoroughly reviewed in our help center before implementing them. Before disabling Windows Script Host, make sure that this service is not used by backup infrastructure components you plan to install on the backup server. If there are any (for example, PostgreSQL database), install these components first, then disable the service. To update these components, you need to enable the service temporarily.
