We frequently see an issue where the proxy server gets stuck in "preparing backup proxy" when backing up a machine that has a deduplicated volume (Windows 2012 R2)
The other volumes on that server are not affected, so I presume it is related to the deduplication.
It doesn't always happen - but when it does the job must be cancelled to free up the proxy again.
Other tasks that are being handled by the proxy server also get stuck.
Has anyone else experienced this? Any suggestions?

Re: "Preparing backup proxy" stuck on deduplicated 2012R2 di
Never ran into similar issue myself. May be a quick call with our support engineer might shed some light on the problem experienced?
Just to be sure - what virtualization platform is meant here? vSphere or Hyper-V?
Thanks.
