Is there a way to prevent one backup from purging. For example:
backup is configured for 14 days.
A security even occurs, when conducting forensics, we would like to prevent one single backup in the backup chain from purging "in case we need to restore it".
I know we can restore the VM and storage vMotion it to save it off, but really we may or may not need it mounted. Just a temporary pause on purging it.

Disable the job or extend the retention points to more days.
Or you can export a specific restore point from a vm or agent to a new standalone vbk file.

Re: Prevent one backup from purging
I didn't even think about the export feature. This is exactly what we needed for this exact scenario. Thank you very much.
