problem during restore for postgresql database

Post by frayber »

Hi to all,
we had a problem when restoring a database postgres from a previous restore point. When we launched the restore wizard, after a while we had this message:

Mount failed: Fuse mount failed: Failed to mount /tmp/Veeam.Mount.Disks.1c1e4ec3-2195-45a5-a821-fc3cacc64396/vm-lxwso2prod17_3-flat.vmdk_0: Invalid argument Failed to mount [xfs] file system. Unable to mount device [/dev/loop0] with filesystem [xfs] to mount point [/tmp/Veeam.Mount.FS.1c1e4ec3-2195-45a5-a821-fc3cacc64396/vm-lxwso2prod17_3-flat.vmdk_0]. , Failed to mount /tmp/Veeam.Mount.Disks.1c1e4ec3-2195-45a5-a821-fc3cacc64396/almalinux-root: Invalid argument Failed to mount [xfs] file system. Unable to mount device [/dev/loop2] with filesystem [xfs] to mount point [/tmp/Veeam.Mount.FS.1c1e4ec3-2195-45a5-a821-fc3cacc64396/almalinux-root].

and so restore failed.

We connected to another location for restore using root account and we have more space on destination machine than the origin machine (80G against 13G of disk in the origin machine).

We experencied another problem during backup because we have setup the wal archiving but we don't see any wal in directory destination. We don't know when this copy should happens. Could you clarify this aspect?

Can anyone help us to discover the problem?

Thanks in advance, Francesco

We found the cause of the first problem: Veeam tried to mount a Almalinux9 xfs filesystem to a Centos 7, but there is this issue: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2046431

Hi Francesco

Thanks for the update. Please let me note, Alma Linux is not yet officially supported by Veeam.

Supported operating systems for Guest Processing are documented in our user guide:
https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... er=120#vms
For Agent backups, we list them here:
https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... er--linux-

Best,
