Problems adding HPE StoreOnce to Veeam 12

Post by AlfredMJ »

Support case # 06393234:
I am creating a new Veeam installation with HPE StoreOnce G4 3640 running 4.3.2 as a backup repository.
The StoreOnce connects to the Backup Proxy/gateway using iSCSI.
During the "add StoreOnce backup repository" wizard I am asked for credentials. I am using Admin.
I have selected the StoreOnce server name (as seen in DNS).
I have added a new Catalyst store to StoreOnce with a client address of the iSCSI address of the Backup Proxy.
I have selected the gateway server (which can ping the iSCSI on the StoreOnce), when I select "Next" I get:
"User Admin does not have access to any Catalyst stores".
That has stopped me in my tracks.
Any suggestions?

I think this is a security feature. Can you create another user and give it the needed rights just on the single Catalyst store?

This is definitely a security issue. You can indeed create a user with rights to that Catalyst store and use that user in VBR. See the "Clients" section on page 62 of this document. https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/ap ... 62048en_us
