Processing rate.. went from fast to slow..
hey everyone,
new guy here..
I have Veeam server that replicates local VMs to a remote site. I have a proxy (hardware server) at each site that is Quad Xeon at 2.8ghz with 32GB ram.
I remember the first time initial replica job, the processing rate at 300+ MB/s and it was good until recently the speed is around 32MB-38MB/s. I checked all the cables and configuration and nothing has changed.
any thing anyone suggests I can check into?
the only major change we had is upgrade ESXi from 4.0 to 5.0.
Thanks

Hi,
Do you have ESX 5 update 1 ? The update 1 corrected many bugs for ISCSI connection.

Hi Bashar, what does the bottleneck statistics say for this replication job?

hey lux209 and Vitaliy S.
the esxi version now is 5.0.0,469512. I don't think we applied Update 1. We're definitely planning another Maintenance shutdown to install all the remaining updates.
The Bottleneck say "Source". Replica job of 8 servers finished with Processing rate of 31MB/s and the servers already have 7 restore points available as well as proxies.
I have started a Support case with tech support. case# is 00135200
Thanks

Hello,
did anything changed in your virtual environment or the veeam vm setting?

Hi there,flavor4real wrote:Hello,

VMware esxi was upgraded to 5.0.
But i think i pin pointed the issue. Looks like teaming the NICs on the proxy server using "Load Balancing" seems to have affected the processing rate. not sure why but I un-teamed the NICs yesterday afternoon and rebooted both Veeam and Proxy servers. waiting for the Job to kick in as my Local backup was processing at 3GB/s and remote replication was going at around 362MB/s.
Cheers
