Protection Group Limits: Maximum Number of Groups and Objects per Group

I have a question about Protection Group limits in Veeam Backup & Replication (v13).

1. Is there a maximum number of Protection Groups that can be created on a single backup server?
2. Is there a maximum number of protected machines (agents) that can be included in one Protection Group?

I’m looking to confirm both any hard limits and recommended maximums for design purposes.

Hi matsusan,

Please see our Recommended Maximums User Guide pages for the tested / supported maximums per Backup Server.

These are not hard limits as noted in the guide, but it's best to follow the limits we put here. Keep in mind we have been working constantly to improve performance and raise the recommended maximums, and we will continue to work towards increasing these values on each release (e.g., we had some increases in 13.0.1, and want to continue pushing the limits when possible)
