Proxy as backup repository

Post by Eric F. »

We have 3 proxy servers' setup as a backup storage targets for specific backup jobs.

Do these proxy servers need to be setup as a proxy in the storage section of the job to be accessible, or can they be removed as a proxy server and still be accessible as a backup storage target?

Keeping in mind, to create backups, you need backup proxies, so as long as you have other backup proxies ready to take over these workloads, if your goal is to no longer use your backup target as a proxy and only use it as a backup target. You could remove the backup proxy role from the three servers.
