Hi!
I have a virtual backupserver, two physical windows proxy servers and a Linux repository for backing up my VMware environment.
Is it a god or bad ide' to install the mount server role on the same physical server as the proxy server for VMware?
Thanks

Re: Proxy server and mount server on same server
Hi Bjorn, welcome to the forums.
Should not be a problem, just ensure that the server is sized appropriately for the intended concurrent tasks as per the System Requirements. While probably the proxy/mount server will not always be busy with backups and restores, just keep in mind both operations will require resources and concurrent tasks, with restore operations having higher priority for task assignment. (i.e., if the scheduler needs to decide to give a free task to either a backup or restore task, the restore task will be picked)
