Is there a recommended configuration for a Proxy VM that can support HotAdd of LSI and Paravirtual SCSI disks? We're in the process of migrating to Paravirtual, so have a mix of VMs running both controllers.
Veeam state that the SCSI controller of the Proxy and Source need to match. I've tried adding a LSI controller to a Proxy VM that uses Paravirtual boot, but this doesn't appear to work.
I didn't want to have to create a Proxy for each SCSI type and then specify the Proxy for each backup job, as this makes the management more complicated. But I can't see any other way to do it.

Re: Proxy VM - HotAdd support for LSI and Paravirtual
Hello,
it does not directly answer your question, but did you think about using NBD through the transition phase? As the hot-add process takes some time, I have seen several situations where NBD was faster in the end.
Best regards,
Hannes
