Q3 - soooo is v7 GA beginning or end!
Q3 - soooo is v7 GA beginning or end!
We've been teased for a few months now.
It would be great to at least get an indication whether its "imminent GA" or do we need to wait until September?
I've got so many customers hanging on its not funny!

In my experience Veeam tend to not push a product out until they are 100% happy with it.
It's well worth the wait to have a nice stable product, especially when its one that does your backing up!

NO Argument about getting the release right, but someone at Veeam HQ must have a feeling as to when its going to happen. Weeks or Months?

QC has optimistic and pessimistic dates, and they are 1 month away, because the release will only happen when quality allows. Certainly in Q3, and my gut feeling says somewhere in August. The beta has been going well, and as soon as we push RC out in the field, it will be much more clear. Thank you for your patience.

IMO and experience I won't use V7 until after the first couple patches are released. No matter how tempting it is, I don't like to tempt fate which in my case tends to bite me where it hurts.

I can't help but assume that v7 would be released at or just before VMworld at the end of August, but that is of course an assumption, and we all know how those turn out

[MERGED] : Wait for veeam 7 or go with veeam 6
Hello guys,
i want to know if a release date for veeam 7 has been decided?
Because if veeam 7 go out in 2 weeks i can wait until then.
Other question imagine i go with veeam 6 do yuou have an idea about the upgrade path to veeam 7?
It will be easy? What about the replication and all that stuff? I mean can i kept my actual replication rules and add the new fonctionnality or do i have to remake everything?
Thanks

Re: Q3 - soooo is v7 GA beginning or end!
I’ve merged your post into the existing topic regarding v7 release date; kindly take a look at Anton’s estimation. As to upgrade path, we will support in-place upgrades from 6.0, 6.1 and 6.5, and this will be very easy and all of your settings and configuration will be preserved.
Thanks.
Thanks.
