Question about Linux Hardened Repository

Post by ironster »

Hello,I have 2 physical servers, one will have the veeam console(server 1), and the other will be a linux hardened repository (Server 2). I want to completely backup Server 1 to Server 2 immutably every evening. However, I'm wondering what happens if Server 1 gets ransomwared and wiped out. Would I be able to reinstall the operating system on Server 1, redownload Veeam and then re-link Server 1 to Server 2 in order to do a complete recovery, or do I lose the ability to access the Hardened Repo to restore from as a result of the ransomware?

Thanks for any help with my question!

Hello. Sure, you can always connect to and restore your existing backups with a new installation, including with a Community Edition (without the need of a valid product license). We always took complete backup portability seriously! Thanks.
