Question about moving licenses

Post by will111222 »

Hi,

I am thinking about using Veeam as a migration tool. Is it ok to keep moving the Veeam licenses from one host to another?

For example, Say I bought a license for 4 sockets and migrated customer A. When that migration was complete could I use the licenses again to migrate Customer B. Then when customer B had been migrated could I re-use them again with Cust C and so on.

Thanks,

Will

Yes, you can revoke the unneeded license keys from the host and then re-use them with another hosts.

Going with the Cloud Edition and its subscription-based licensing might be a cheaper option though (depending on how long you will continue to perform those migration projects), so be sure to consider that as well. Thanks!
