Hello Forum,
the Oracle DB guys want to test the RMAN plugin.
Up to now, we have a nightly backup of the VM (Win) with enabled Application Aware Processing, deleting logs older than 24 hours and a log backup every 60 minutes.
Now, I installed the Veeam RMAN backup on the Oracle VM.
I guess it's best practice to set the nigthly job to perform a "copy only" of the transaction logs?
Didn't find any hints on that.
Thank you and kind regards
Andreas

Re: Question: ? Oracle VM Backup: RMAN & Application Aware Processing
Hello,
the "hint" is in the user guide and in the UI.
from user guide
RMAN is "other application" or "other backup tool"
Best regards,
Hannes
the "hint" is in the user guide and in the UI.
from user guide
from user interface: "lets another application user logs"Select Perform copy only if you use another backup tool to perform VM guest level backup, and this tool maintains consistency of the database state.
RMAN is "other application" or "other backup tool"
Best regards,
Hannes
