RDP Disconnects
Not sure I believe in coincidences so I thought I would ask here ...
I created a new backup job to perform a volume image backup on a 2012 server which is a VM.
Veeam is running on a bare metal server that until I started this job has been rock solid.
Suddenly the RDP session to this server is constantly connecting/disconnecting.
I did find through a Google search that it was something that has happened in the past but the posts were pretty old (Veeam v6?)
Has anyone else seen this behavior ?
Bob

Re: RDP Disconnects
Did it happen at specific time? Say, when snapshot was created (job start) or merged (job finish)? Thanks.

Re: RDP Disconnects
It began when the job started and ended when the job completed.
It didn't appear to affect the backup.

Re: RDP Disconnects
Can it be machine running on snapshot that results in RDP connection drops? Can you simulate the said behaviour - take a snapshot manually, keep it long enough (the time similar to the one backup job takes) and delete it? Will RDP be dropped during or not? Thanks.

Re: RDP Disconnects
Hi Bob,
I'd check the routing (and firewall settings) between client machine and the host. Another thought/suggestion that I found was to check (and modify) Configure keep-alive connection interval via gpedit.msc:
1. On the VBR server open gpedit.msc
2. Go to Computer Configuration\ Administrative Templates\ Windows Components\ Remote Desktop Services\ Remote Desktop Session Host\ Connections\
3. Set Configure keep-alive connection interval to Enabled and Keep-Alive interval value to 1
4. Restart the host
