Hi,
We're currently running:
1x VBR 12.3
2x Veeam Proxy Servers
3x Veeam Appliances for AWS
1x Veeam Appliance for Azure
1x Veeam Enterprise Manager & VeeamOne server.
When this environment was initially setup by a third party company, they recommended not to backup anything except the Veeam Configuration.
I'm not so convinced, but my research seems to be returning conflicting opinions with some saying backup the whole infrastructure, others only some parts.
What should we be backing up?
I'm thinking that the VBR server can just be rebuilt and restored from config backup (is that a total database backup in the config?)
Veeam Appliances - EC2 snapshot backup like any other server.
Veeam Proxy Servers - either backup like any other EC2 from snapshot or not bother backing up?
The Enterprise Management Server, which also runs VeeamONE - would it need backing up and. if so, would a Veeam AWS backup (EC2 snapshot) work for that?
Would there be any exclusions to apply?
Any thoughts on our options?
Thanks,
Richie

Re: Recommendations/Best Practices for Backing Up The Veeam Infrastructure
Are you encrypting any Veeam backups? If yes, you would definitely want to also protect/export the key sets used on the Enterprise Manager server for encryption. There is a link to the user guide here: https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... ml?ver=120
