I searched the forums first and read the FAQ but didn't see much recent information on the topic. A ticket opened with support suggested that I post on the forums. I saw the topic, where some recommendations were no longer correct because they were made a few years ago, and the product architecture has changed significantly since then.
With Veeam 9.5 perhaps this warrants a new topic.

I've got a Dell R730xd with 2x300GB SAS 10k (OS) and 8x 2To (Raid 5) SAS 7.2k for Veeam.
Backup is done with direct SAN (SAS).
As you can see, it's correct:
