Re: Restore only non existing files
+1 for this feature. I regularly deal with users who accidentally delete a section of files, and with folders that have many files, it can get ugly. I remember liking Backup Exec's restore only if older (on target).

+1 for me (Just searched that feature and cant believe its not there). Would be really easy to implement and a lot of help in our cryptovirus world...

+1 for me too - could have done with this feature today. Even our (very crappy) old backup system had this functionality...

+1 for this. I remember Backup Exec had this feature when I used it. It sure would be a shame to have to say Veeam doesn't do some things as well as Backup Exec.

Re: Restore only non existing files
I know this is an older thread, but still relevant today. Has this issue of restoring only files that have not been changed, ever been addressed?

Hi Marcus, no, this functionality is not currently available but we have it logged as an improvement for one of the future versions.

Re: Restore only non existing files
Hello, this functionality is requested since 2014. As I can see on this forum and nothing happens since then. I was surprised, that there is no that option, as I was accustomed i other backup solutions. Is it that real expected date for this almost basic functionality?
Thanks for clear answer.

Re: Restore only non existing files
Hello, currently we don't connect to the original machine at all when you mount and browse the restore point, so it is impossible for us to know what files are missing. Thanks!

Re: Restore only non existing files
Gostev, while that is true that you don't know what files are missing when you mount and browse the restore point, instead of blind copying to the folder on an overwrite couldn't you do a check to see if the file is already there? That's really all that is being and has been asked for. We would just need an option like "Overwrite" or "Overwrite older and missing files only".

+1
Shame that some basic features are lacking in Veeam, which overall is a fantastic product. Just like excluding VM's from a SureBackup job.

[MERGED] restore files to alternate location 'keep'
Hello,
Is it possible to restore files to an alternate location and keep the files which have the same names. i.e. just restore missing files?
