Redo log path

Hi experts,

I am preparing VMCE2020 exam and while referring online practice paper I observed one question having lot of confusion.

Redo log description :-

Statement One :-

At the Datastore step of the wizard, you can select where redo logs for verified VMs must be stored. Redo logs are auxiliary files used to keep changes that take place when VMs run in the virtual lab. By default, redo logs are stored on the vPower NFS server. However, you can store redo logs on any datastore in the virtual environment. Redirecting redo logs improves verification performance. As soon as a recovery verification job completes, Veeam Backup & Replication deletes redo logs.

During verification, a backed-up VM image remains in read-only state. All changes that take place when the VM is running are written to redo log files that are stored on the datastore selected in the virtual lab settings. When the recovery process is complete, the redo logs are removed.

Veeam documentation mentioned :-

Specifies a datastore to keep redo logs for verified VMs. Note: If you do not specify this parameter, Veeam Backup & Replication will store redo logs on the vPower NFS server.

Question:- Where are the redo logs for the jobs located in surebackup?

My understanding either it is on data store or backup repository

First line is incorrect. By default, it is located in the selected folder of the mount server.

This is what is false. They are on the corresponding mount server specified for the backup repository.

Example: DataDomain repository.
Mount server: One of the Windows servers (a proxy, Veeam Server itself...) (It must be a Windows system)
The redo logs are in the Windows Server (Mount server) and never on the DataDomain appliance. You see the parameters on the link from Gostev.
