Remote Agent Mapped Drive

Post by ddores »

Just an FYI to everyone, this is actually covered if you really dig in another older post, but it's not easy to find.

For anyone who's trying to restore to a remote agent's Mapped drives - I've found that using the "MKLINK" command line works just fine. As soon as I MKLINK a folder on the C: drive to a remote UNC, the agent can see it.

There's probably other ways to fix it with security context/user credentials modifications (None of which I could get working) - but this works for me.

Thanks for sharing this information with the community, much appreciated. Mapped drives are in fact not visible to service accounts, so services cannot interact with them directly.
