Remove backup reference after deleting a file
Dear all,
I have Veeam Backup installed and my repository is full.
To resume the backup, I deleted some old backups from the repository. I had to do it via Linux directly in the repository, removing the immutability, because it was not possible to delete them via the Veeam interface due to the immutability.
I managed to free up the necessary space in the repository, however, some backups (hostnames) still appear in the Veeam interface (in backup) even though the files no longer exist in the original location.
I have already restarted both the Veeam Backup and Linux repository servers and these references have not disappeared.
How can I remove them from the Veeam Backup interface? In other words, remove the reference in Backup>Disk>JOB_NAME.

Good morning, my friend.
It didn't work! For example, I need to delete this Veeam Interface reference, the files no longer exist in the Linux repository:

Re: Remove backup reference after deleting a file
Have you done a rescan of your repository after deleting the backup files?
The backup files should be displayed as not available anymore.
Best regards,
Fabian

Dude,
Yes, look... this file that is still listed in the Veeam reference no longer exists in the repository.

Re: Remove backup reference after deleting a file
Veeam DB still thinks the file is there, if that’s the case even after a rescan of the backup repository then you can try the following.
Hold ctrl press right mouse button on backup chain. Click on forget backup. This will delete the entire chain from the DB and not on the repository, do a rescan. This should work for you.
