Rename backup copy job

Post by matteu »

Hello,

I rename all my backup copy job but on the section Disk (copy) I can see only the old name for my restore point.
What I have to do to see the new backup job name here ?

I'm on the latest version

Hi Matteu

Renaming a job does not change the name on the backups.

You can follow this kb if you want to change it there too:
https://www.veeam.com/kb2174

Hi
we have backups on production stored on data domain(DD) and replicated to DR by DD.
On prod site backup name changed following https://www.veeam.com/kb2174, But backup name on DD on DR site still same old name.

How to change backup name on DR site?, note backups replicated by DD not veeam and backups imported into veeam.

Hi khairi, welcome to the forums.

Regrettably, I think that the process here likely will not work with your setup for the old backups. Part of the process requires re-mapping the backups to a job, which I do not recommend as it sounds like you have multiple VBRs connecting to a single data domain, and this can potentially introduce issues.

New backups made after the change on production should reflect the changed name, but for the backups already on the DR site, the KB process will not work in this particular scenario.
