Repeative incremental failure

Post by aseesing »

Goodmorning all!

Since last night we encountered this error. The VM is part of a job with 3 VM's included. The other two VM's are backupped perfectly. Is there any way to fix this without recreating the job?

Thanks.

Good morning Alex. It depends on what causing this inability to open the .vrb content, but to investigate that, we would need full logs...

I'll insert a new ticket to support I suppose. Which log files do I need to include?

The corresponding job's log file from Help | Support information, or all logs if you are not sure where is the correct one.

Hello - I just wanted to advise anyone else that may run into this problem, to check for the file that is attempting to open (in above case 'E:\VMBackups\BackupCLGA002009-06-09T133250.vrb'), to assure that it still exists in the target directory.

Please don't hesitate to advise support(at)veeam.com for in depth troubleshooting.

Thanks!

awesome, cheers for updating the post here - exact same problem I'm having! removing the last (failed) .VRB file resolved the issue.

I had to restore my VCS again after a experimental mistake and the very same problem occured again. This time I moved the VM with VCS outside the same VMware Cluster, in my case the same host as the VCB/Veeam host. I stop trying to backup a VCS inside it's cluster with vMotion and HA enabled. A backup with some possible little downtime is more important than a non working VCS after downtime.
