Replace ShadowProtect and ImageManager

Post by Coldfirex »

Howdy,
We are looking to replace an aging setup that exists for a few clients.
They all have StorageCraft ShadowProtect software installed within a VM, backing up to an onsite NAS (smb share). A local ImageManager installation manages the rollups and then offsites via iFTP to a Windows box also running IM with a single large HDD. The offsite machine is not intended to bring up a VM, just store an offsite copy.

What type of Veeam setup would be the most comparable to this? Our primary motivator at looking to change is because ImageManager/iFTP does not seem to do very well with flaky ISPs. This leads to manually having to re-transfer corrupt file backups, etc.
Thanks!

Hello!

I understand you're an MSP. In this case, you should look at Veeam Cloud Connect.

Or if don't want to act as MSP and/or manage off-site backup storage, then your clients should set up a scale-out repository with cloud object storage provider for Capacity Tier, and use the Copy policy on it.

Regardless which way you go, for the client site we recommend deploying all-in-one Veeam DR appliance based on a general purpose physical server with enough internal storage.

I recommend you schedule a call to go over and see a demo of all options with one of the engineers on our VCSP team.

Thanks!
