Replica Testing question

Post by jpaul »

We have a client that replicates VM's back to our datacenter and they would like us to test out there virtual machines. We have them completely isolated from the production network. But I was wondering what the best way to do this is. Should we simply log into the ESX server at our datacenter and power on the virtual machines, or do we need to reform a failover operation (note we want to keep the production virtual machine in place so business is as normal, just test the replicas at the same time)

I didnt know if just powering on the replicas for a few hours while we disable the replication jobs on the source side would hurt anything???

Thanks guys
