Replicating a replica(now production)

Post by kaboomza »

Thanks for all the help thus far guys, I appreciate it.

my question is, if I recently restored a replica and the said replica is now in "production" I would, of course, need to edit my replica job in Veeam to now start making replica's of the replica. the naming convention in vmware wasnt changed so I would assume if I replicate that machine it would have the name along the lines of "vmname_replica_replica" correct? It's not the end of the world but just making sure.

Correct, _replica is a default suffix added to replicated VM names. In your case the resulting name will be vmname_replica_replica. However, you can rename source VM (from vmname_replica to vmname), using vSphere client. Thanks!
