Replication after migration

Post by kommgroup »

I migrated a server to a new physical host. Now, I would like to update my replication job to reflect that change, but I don't want to have to start over and replicate the entire server again. Is there a way to do this? Let me know what additional details I can provide. Thanks.

If you migrated VMs under vCenter, then your replication jobs will continue normally. If you are not using vCenter (just standalone hosts), then there is no way to continue replication without replicating the entire server again, as for Veeam these are new VMs. Thanks!

Update - I found there are some workarounds, too:

1. It appears that our support has a tool for post-migration remapping available.

2. You can create the new job and use "replica mapping" functionality in the replication job wizard. However, this will not be as fast as the previous option, because the entire replica VMs will have to be read to calculate its virtual disk block digests.

Thanks!
