Replication job failing

I have created a new replication job and it is failing on the first run.
The error message is as follows:

1/6/2015 4:38:21 PM :: Processing configuration Error: Cannot replicate disk [LUNNAME] VM/VM.vmdk because its capacity was reduced

I can't seem to find any detail on this message anywhere.
The source VM has a 36GB thin provisioned disk, the target VM (replica seed) has a 40GB disk.

Other replication jobs in the same environment are working as expected.
The source OS is Windows Server 2003.

Has anyone encountered this problem? I'm not sure exactly where to start looking for the cause.

Looks like the virtual disk size was reduced after the replica was created, so the job cannot continue replication. You should start replicating this VM from scratch. Thanks!

You could try to remove all replica VM snapshots, manually resize the disk to match the source VM disk size. If this does not help, seed the replica using a fresh backup of this VM, to avoid replication of the entire VM from scratch.

Thank you both for the suggestions.

Since this is the first time I have tried replicating the VM, I will try the second suggestion of restoring a fresh backup of the VM to the replica and double check that the sizes match.

Restoring a backup the replica prior to running the replication job did solve the issue for these VMs
