Replication to Thin Disks
Hi, I have been succesfully replicating to a server which had thick disks. The disks have been coneverted (using VMware Migrate option) and now the replication is failing. Are thin disks supported for replication?
The error I get is "Replicating file "[VOL1_SAS] maia/maia-aux.xml" BackupFile failed Client error: External FIB refers to non-existing file. FIB: [maia-aux.xml]. File: [RelativePath://0x0000000c=maia-aux.xml;]. Cannot backup file in the service console mode. File: [nfc://conn:vcentre,nfchost:host-43,stg:datastore-18@maia/maia-aux.xml]. Thanks

Hello - yes, but you would need to re-create a job after disks conversion I believe. Thanks!

Nick,
Just wanted to add, if you still see the same issue with missing xml file after re-creating the job, I would recommend you to open a support case with our technical team and provide all the logs for investigation.
Thanks!

Re: Replication to Thin Disks
Hi, the replication job finsished however the disks on on the replicated server are all Thick (they were Thin on the original server being replicated). Looks like you can't replicate and then use Thin disks as the Veeam replication process will only replicate to Thick disks

Re: Replication to Thin Disks
Hello Nick - correct, this is documented in the Release Notes for this version. We do not support replicating thin disks as thin with version 4. This is a feature of the upcoming 5.0 release.
