+1 for the direct SAN backup for VVols. I've got customers who do direct SAN backups for reasons of backup performance and keeping backup workload off their LAN and compute infrastructure. They would love to move to VVols, but aren't willing to give up their direct SAN backups for them.
+1 also for the ability to restore from storage snapshots of VVols.

Veeam's File/Application Level Recovery, SureBackup and Virtual Lab VMs via Storage Snapshot is great, but we can't take advantage of it with VVol'd VMs
+1 for Storage Snapshots integration of VVols and Direct SAN backup of VVols.
