I have approx 20TB of backup data stored on a dedupe backup appliance that is being replicated to a DR site. I'd like to know what to expect in terms of time to rescan that backup data at the DR location - mins, hrs or days? If anyone is doing this I'd like to know what your experiences were.
Backup Copy Jobs are too slow, and I understand that I cannot adjust retention in this scenario.
Thank you.

Re: Rescan times for storage copied/replicated backup
Hello,
I estimate not more than one hour (without having any details of your installation)
By the way, which dedupe appliance do you use?
Best regards,
Hannes

Re: Rescan times for storage copied/replicated backup
Hi Steve.
I would say Repository Rescan will take seconds(minutes at worst) and does not depend on data size(that is if your appliance replicates entire repository folder, including .vbm metadata files, alongside backup data files). Once Rescan is done, you can use all replicated backups instantaneously for restore operations.
In case you only have .vbk and .vib files at DR site, than "Import backup" at DR site might take a few...and depends on data size!
/Cheers!
