[V13] Reschedule Background Retention on V13 VSA

Hi,

I have a case running with support but can't seem to get through. We have Veeam 13 appliance edition. We run our backups for this customer specifically at 00.30 in the morning. But during GFS backup keeps failing and retrying. I found out that at exactly 00.30 there is a background Retention job running within Veeam 13. This seems to interfere with our backup scheduled at the same time. On windows VBR there is a registry key to reschedule Background retention. Until now, i have not found an option for Appliance Edition.

I have a couple of questions.
1. Can we reschedule this background retention job?
2. How long does this job run?
3. After retention is started can we directly start a backup or do we need to wait for the retention to complete?
4. Since it starts at 00.30 i would guess we might be able to start it a bit earlier but before midnight 00.00 would be an issue, guess?
5. So either reschedule to 00.15 or 00.29 or talk to customer (who specifically asked for 00.30) if he would be willing to re-schedule backup to 00.35? 00.45?

Bit strange that functionality to reschedule Retention job has been long available on windows VBR but (apparetly) not on VSA VBR

Hi Karl,

It is the same configuration key, but in a different location.
For the appliance, it can be configured from the Host Management Console Web UI as described in this KB article: https://www.veeam.com/kb4779

Hi Mildur, Thanks for the quick reply, any clue why Veeam engineers don't know about this? He keeps insisting this is not possible.
