Are you using Linux File Level Restore wizard?
Can you please contact our support with logs from Logs node of the Backup Browser?

Re: Restore Guest File for Linux VM failed
I am just using the normal way of restoring file level.
Right click on the backups, select Restore guest files -> click Next
Where is the Linux File Level Restore wizard ? I don't see anything mention about it.

Hello Steven,
To do a File-Level-Restore for Linux machines, you should use Linux File Restore Wizard, it is located at the Tools Tab.

Re: Restore Guest File for Linux VM failed
Steven,
The Veeam File Level Restore wizard is installed with Veeam Backup and Replication 3.1. To start the wizard, select Programs > Veeam > Veeam File Level Restore from the Start menu, or double click the Veeam File Level Restore icon on the desktop.
To run the virtual appliance, the Veeam File Level Restore wizard uses VMware player. Please make sure that VMware Player is installed on your computer – otherwise the wizard will not be able to perform the file-level restore operation. You can download the latest version of VMware Player from: http://www.vmware.com/download/player/
