Restoring a Linux backup to another server with "Copy to" option restores files with original source permissions and ownership but folders are created with root ownership (both user and group); the "Preserve permissions and ownership" is selected.
Opened case #0583802 and support reports that this beaviour in v11 is by design and suggest to open a feature request to R&D

Re: Restore Linux Backup with "copy to" option result in wrong folder permissions
Hello,
and welcome to the forums.
I just tested it in V12 and ownership of the folder is correct (I did not test in V11)
I restored the "testfolder" from one VM to another VM. From /home/veeam/ to /tmp/
Best regards,
Hannes

Code: Select all
root@ubuntu2004:/home/veeam# ls -la /tmp/ |grep test
drwxr-xr-x 2 veeam veeam 4096 Feb 1 05:53 testfolder
