[Feature Request] Restore of Partition Table

Post by SRPSIT » 1 person likes this post

We recently had an issue where several REFS disks accidently got cleared by Clear-Disk -RemoveData -Confirm:$false
The following restrore with Veeam had some interesting side effects. Some drives just popped up again after Veeam had accessed the PT to restore a different drive on the same server. We managed to get 16 drives of 72 (18 servers x4 drives) back online by this "magic". The rest was restored by Veeam.

Somehow Veeam must have restored the Partition Table of those 16 drives when it attempted the restore another drive on the same server.

Can you add the feature "Restore Partition Table" to Veeam?

Hello Stefan

Thank you for the request.
Strange that the data was still on the disk with -removeData. As far as I know, this will remove the data as well and not only the partition table.

Best,
