Restore of User Profile with no permissions to admins

Post by cgrebing »

Hello,

we have customer (B&R v9) who wants to restore user Profile data from his Windows fileserver.
Only the user himself has permissions to the Folder.
if we try to restore some files from the users Profile we can see the folders and some, but not all files.
We also tried to look at c:\veeamflr and took over ownership of the folders but most of the files are missing.

I thought that Veeam B&R backs up every block of the vmdk no matter what is in it, so we backup files we even have no permissions to.

Can anybody explain why we see the folders but not files? AAIP is enabled for this job.

thanks to all

Aren't there any File Exclusions specified by any chance? What happens if you instantly recover VM and dig to the corresponding folder? Will you see the mentioned files there? Thanks.

No, the aren't any File Exclusions specified. We always recovered the VM by IR but we also cannot see the Content of the Folders if we take over ownership.
Next try would be recovery by SureBackup Lab and let the user hinself try to look into the Folders of the recovered VM.

I doubt that would help, as it looks like those files have been completely skipped from processing. If the approach you're about to take doesn't help, feel free to open a ticket with our support team and let them find out what's happening. Thanks.
