Local Veeam Backup server. Remote Veeam Proxy and the Repositiry. Slow link (100Mbps).
When restoring files or Exchange Items form the Veeam console on the Veeam Backup server, it takes minutes before the Veeam Explorer or the Explorer for Exchange has mounted and can view the items.
Is there anyway a possibility to let the proxy-server do this work (with the local connection to the Repository).

Re: Restore over slow link
Hello DaLi,
Thank you for the interesting question.
Proxy plays role of the data mover only, and Veeam Exchange Explorer needs the Veeam B&R installed on the side where you want to perform an application item level restore. However you can download and install Veeam Backup Free Edition with the Exchange Explorer included to your offsite and import exchange backup file to Free Edition and run Exchange Explorer from offsite.
Hope that this is what you were looking for,
Cheers!

Re: Restore over slow link
Slow speeds are expected in case of remote restore as Veeam Explorer for Exchange mounts the compressed backup image from the repository server to the backup server, so you'd better have both in the same location for better restore performance.
